Whether we like it or not social networking ie Facebook, Twitter etc is here to stay. Already Google has announced that it has started indexing real time searches.

However, things are never static on the internet and I believe it is important for everybody to develop social networking to the next level. What is the next level? To be honest, I've no idea, search engines are for ever changing..... BUT the more social links (and, more specially, followers on those social links!) we have, the better we shall be placed for whatever the future brings. Let's face it. One year ago hardly anybody had heard of Twitter. Now, most people have a Twitter account and use it.

The trick is to take the next step before the majority of others do so!

Not only is there Facebook and Twitter but there are also many other networking site out there ike, Bebo, Linkedin, Myspace, Plaxo, Multiply, Tumblr, Hi5 and Yahoo Meme. The list can go on and on and on and on and on etc. Im sure you also have heard of many others.

"But I don't have the time for all this!" you say.

Correct. Neither do I. And that is where Ping comes in. This is a site where you have 140 characters (same as Twitter) to say something or better still say something and then link it to one of your "Social Networking" sites. Ping then sends it to all your social sites at one go. Easy! Instead of me going to Twitter and then Facebook and so on, I have spread a link back to a website on 10 major social sites in one easy step!

I believe this is something we should all consider to expand and safeguard our websites position on the major search engines (Google) and an important part of SEO in the future.
